| DESCRIPTION: | Danazol is a synthetic steroid (androgen or sex hormone) and pituitary gonadotropin inhibitor used for treatment of endometriosis-associated symptoms or/and to reduce the extent of endometriosis foci; it may be used either in conjunction with surgery or, as sole hormonal therapy, in patients not responding to other treatments. Dansoford-100 is also used for benign fibrocystic breast disease i.e. for symptomatic relief of severe pain and tenderness. |
| SIDE EFFECTS: | Weight gain, acne, flushing, sweating, voice changes (hoarseness, change in pitch), abnormal growth of body hair (in women), vaginal dryness/irritation & decreased breast size may occur. |
